Some may believe that glory and fame comes with securing your name to a patent, however that’s not why we do it. For over 115 years, we have focused on developing innovative footwear, not for gimmicks or recognition, but because we are passionate about developing innovative solutions that matter.
During his studies at the University of Notre Dame, Albert Funk helped to pioneer the development of synthetic rubber, also known as neoprene. He would later partner with his brother Arthur, becoming owners of the LaCrosse Rubber Mills, where they would revolutionize the rubber boot industry with the introduction of ALPHA, the very first neoprene lined rubber boot.

Fully loaded, the Alpha Mudlite features a new innovative AirCirc system which circulates airflow inside the boot with each step, an abrasion resistant Brush Tuff exterior and our traditional Alpha construction which provides complete scent proof and waterproof protection.

  • Removable EVA footbed adds cushioning for all day comfort
  • Back gusset with strap supplies a customized fit and is easily adjustable to accommodate clothing
  • Mud Lite outsole provides superior traction with a low profile 90º heel, unique multi-directional lug pattern, and an oil and slip resistant rubber compound
