It’s a pretty simple value… if you don’t know what someone needs, just ask. That is how we approach each design, working directly with the men and women of their trade; from miners and railroaders to ice road truckers… we strive to develop the footwear that they ask for.
During his studies at the University of Notre Dame, Albert Funk helped to pioneer the development of synthetic rubber, also known as neoprene. He would later partner with his brother Arthur, becoming owners of the LaCrosse Rubber Mills, where they would revolutionize the rubber boot industry with the introduction of ALPHA, the very first neoprene lined rubber boot.

The Alpha Aggressive™ features an extremely durable Vibram® outsole for superior traction for any outdoor conditions. Long-wearing, comfortable, lightweight and 100% waterproof, the boots are made with Alpha construction, which consists of ozone-resistant rubber over 3.5mm naturally-insulating neoprene to keep feet dry and comfortable. The steel toe meets or exceeds ASTM standard F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH and the rubber upper offers chemical resistance against 25 industry chemicals tested to ASTM F903 Procedure A.

Comments about LaCrosse Alpha Aggressive Steel Toe Work Boots:

These still are the best fitting boot and with the vibram sole they offer the best traction of any mud boot I've worn. But, they do not hold up well. I've gone through two pairs now, and they split in the same place each time - just behind the steel toe on both corners of the boot...making for a tough repair with goop or rubber cement.
Longevity gets 2 stars, everything else gets 5

Comments about LaCrosse Alpha Aggressive Steel Toe Work Boots:

I work for the biggest water management department in the midwest laying new water distribution lines. I'm required to wear safety toe boots, but leather boots do not work in this environment. We spend our day in standing water up to 10" deep, mud, and raw sewage. This boots are perfect for this line of work, and so far I'm really happy because they are comfortable, keep my feet warm, and they are not extremely heavy.

Alpha Aggressive Steel Toe Work Boots

Comments about LaCrosse Alpha Aggressive Steel Toe Work Boots:

These are great boots. Great traction with the vibram sole, very well fitting, good ankle support and no heel rub, boots stay put when pulling out of deep muck/mud. I work in the dredged material business, so I'm in mud all the time, and often walking up and down 2:1 slopes as well, these rubber boots are the best I've worn...except for my old Extra Tuffs! But those are deck boots, no good for mud work! ;)
