The LaCrosse Big Country Scent offers the rugged package of a full-grain leather upper, an abrasion resistant toe cap, a scent free and waterproof lining and a Quad Comfort® outsole which provides superior traction in mountainous terrain.

Don't let the price fool you on this Lace Up! I would put this boot up against any other similar boot on the Market. Used this boot a lot out west this year on western deer and elk hunts. The boot was flawless!

I did not keep these boots. They had everything I love in good boot;Waterproof, lightweight, good tread pattern (traction), high tongue gusset and a host of other great things. So many that I'm still tempted to try another pair.
The pair I got however, had one fatal flaw: the heel stabilizer dug into my ankle. This seems to be a problem particular to me, and in no way reflects the quality of this boot. My only other criticism of the boot is the heavy padding on the tongue. Still wish it had worked out. Return was painless, customer service excellent. Have since fell back to a new pair of 4X8 HD's.

I am a field producer for a hunting television show and I am in the field approximately 100-120 days a year. I recently tried this boot filming an Axis deer hunt in some of the most rugged terrain the Texas hill country has to offer and this boot exceeded my expectations! Temps were in the mid 90's and we hiked a couple of miles each day. Never did my feet get overly hot or wringing wet. The durable leather construction held up to the sharp rim rock and merciless prickly pear cactus needles like a champ. I wasn't able to break these boots in before the hunt but they did VERY well right out of the box. The leather is stiff enough to handle the rough stuff but supple enough to be comfortable and still provide great ankle support. The only thing I would caution someone about when purchasing this boot if you are not able to try them on first is that they fit VERY true to size (going off my tennis shoe size) and were a bit too snug before the leather stretched so if you like a just a little "wiggle room" I would suggest goint a half size bigger than your tennis shoe size. I bought this pair for my 13 year old son. We went out hunting the next day and he said they were the most comfortable pair of boots/shoes that he has ever put on. We walked all types of terrain and he never had a single problem with them. They have a great sole pattern for the extra grip where ever we walked. All in all I am very impressed with these boots, he never even started to get any soreness in his feet after four days of wearing them. Just a great boot at a very reasonable price.
