All LaCrosse boots and waders have been designed to combine comfort with the kind of maximum durability needed to work all day, and in most cases, hunt until legal dark. To fit well, a boot needs to hold the foot securely and comfortably. It needs to be long enough so as not to over-crowd the toes like packed sardines, and wide enough to accommodate the foot and the usual pair of socks (and it’d be wise if those socks were from LaCrosse, too). It also needs to hold the heel securely in place to prevent slippage, the most common cause of blisters. Because blisters sometimes make for whining, and here at LaCrosse, we’re against that.

General Fit
Boots are made with two size indicators:
size and
width. Size indicates how long the boot is from the heel to the toe; width from side to side at the ball of the foot.
Though you can measure your own foot for sizing, the best place to start is with a qualified sales person at your local LaCrosse authorized dealer, because they know the deal. They’re professionals. They’ll be able to accurately measure your foot with a nifty little contraption called a Brannock device, which provides a starting point for proper fitting. They’ll also be able to suggest boot styles that’ll accommodate the subtle variations in your feet, because like a fingerprint, no two feet are exactly alike.
How do you know if the boots you've chosen will fit correctly after you leave the store? Start by wearing the same socks that you’ll most likely be using, and then try to simulate the conditions that you will be wearing the boots in. Many stores have a test ramp or incline that you should walk up and down.
Can you wiggle your toes? A little bit of room is good. Too much room, not so good.
Do your toes press against the front of the boots when you’re on a downward incline? If so, they shouldn’t and you’d be wise to try a larger size.
Does your heel stay in place when you walk around? If so, it should and you just might have found the perfect fit.
How about the width? You want ‘em slightly snug, but not tight. That’s best. If you feel any “hot spots” as you walk around, they will likely only get worse and cause blisters. If you read the first paragraph in this section, you’ll know where we stand on blisters and the whining they cause.
When the boot is comfortably laced, do the two rows of eyelets stay parallel to each other from your toes to your ankle? Well if they don’t, it can mean that you need a different width. Your salesperson can help with that.
If you’ll be using the boots on rocky terrain or trails, walk around the store, maybe all the way to the sporting goods section if need be, and see if you can feel bumps and edges through the outsole. If you can, you’ll really feel them after a few miles on the trail and it means you’ll need a different fit or in some cases, a different LaCrosse boot. Hey, we’re just shooting you straight because the last thing we want your boots to do is irritate you. Heck, the only thing that should irritate you is people who wear penny loafers, right?
If you still need a little adjustment, there are two main ways to improve the fit. The first is simple: tightening and loosening the laces at different parts of the boot to take up looseness or relax a tight area. Give it a shot. The second is a little more involved: substituting a thicker or thinner footbed to either increase or decrease the amount of space in the boot can tighten or relaxing the fit. For example, a thicker footbed will raise the heel to eliminate slipping.

Quad Comfort
The now-legendary fit and feel of Quad Comfort technology comes from the unique four layer cushioning system and stands among the most comfortable boot out there, at a piece you’ll really like. Best of all, they’ve been designed to fit your foot snugly for day long performance. The sizing runs true to your normal boot size, and Quad Comfort models are one of the few available in standard widths, as well as medium and wide sizes for a fit more perfect than steak and eggs. Highly durable outsoles, combined with anatomically designed uppers, make sure the boots fit well and flex at key points, which makes an entire day on your feet seem more like a nice walk in the park, if you know what we’re sayin’.

Burly
All Burly® rubber knee boots run a size larger than what you normally wear in an athletic shoe and are available in whole sizes and one width only. This gives you plenty of room for a good, thick sock like the LaCrosse AlphaBurly hunting sock. It's recommended that half sizes order the next full size down. For example, if you wear a 10 1/2 you should purchase a size 10.
Burly® rubber knee boots were designed to be Ankle-Fit to keep them from being sucked off in mud or muck and leave you struggling instead of hunting. That helps to reduce fatigue and the need for anger-management sessions. To get them on easier, make sure to wear quality socks like those made by LaCrosse. A 100% cotton sock can make it difficult, so avoid this when ever possible, and try your darnedest to find socks with moisture management capabilities such as polypropylene. You’ll be happy when it comes time to kick off your boots and relax. Using a boot jack is the best way to take your Ankle-Fit Burly® boots off because jumping around and kicking tends to look weird.

Alpha Boots
Warm, scent-free, rubber-over-neoprene Alpha boots have been designed to fit your foot like your favorite socks. The snug fit around your foot and in the toe box give the Alpha boots an "ankle-fit" effect and minimize heel slippage, reduce fatigue and significantly cut down on cussing, which has a way of spooking critters. If you prefer having extra room in your boots for doubling up on socks, order a size larger than you would in a gym shoe. Alpha boots are only available in whole sizes and medium width, so we recommend half sizes order the next full size available. For example, if you wear a 10 1/2 you should purchase a size 11 and you’ll be set.

Waders
To achieve a proper fit, refer to the charts below and select the size corresponding to your body measurements. Order your LaCrosse waders based on shoe size, then custom tune the fit by choosing Regular, King or Stout. LaCrosse Wader Socks are also a darn fine addition to your system and with a height like that, double nicely as hockey socks, too. Neoprene waders can accommodate a range of sizes because neoprene stretches, so don’t be afraid to jam a stick or two of venison jerky inside. You know, for emergencies.

Cold Weather
Traditional cold-weather boots, or PAC for short, like the legendary Ice King™, fit more generously than your typical boots and shoes because a little added circulation helps keep feet warm. Traditional molded rubber shell PAC boots are available in whole sizes and one width only. To achieve the proper fit, we recommend you order the size you’d normally wear, and the next available full size if a half size is needed. For example, if you wear a 10 1/2 you should purchase a size 11. As you probably guessed, the overall fit can be fine tuned by wearing a heavier or lighter LaCrosse sock.

PFT Pac Boots
Just like their name, PFT™ PAC boots are designed to fit more precisely than a traditional PAC because they're built on a last just like a leather lace-up. This pretty much makes PFT™ boots the only PACs available in whole and half sizes, and medium or wide widths. The design also allows us to add a warm layer of Thinsulate™ Insulation into the boot so you won't need to pile on the extra socks for a better fit or more warmth. PFT™ boots have an athletic fit and feel to them so it's recommended to buy the size you would normally wear in a leather lace-up boot. For example, if you wear a 10 1/2 wide you should purchase a size 10 1/2 wide.

Overshoes
LaCrosse rubber overshoes fit size-for-size over traditional plain toe and safety toe leather work boots and go a long way toward keeping both your feet and wallet protected against the elements.
