In 1897 LaCrosse opened its doors manufacturing rubber horseshoes, quickly transitioning into overshoes, rubber boots. Next came jungle boots, pac boots, tennis shoes, boating shoes, moonboots, hip boots, waders, leather boots, mining boots and many more… And through it all we’ve learned many lessons that have contributed to a century of experience in crafting high quality footwear.
It’s a pretty simple value… if you don’t know what someone needs, just ask. That is how we approach each design, working directly with the men and women of their trade; from miners and railroaders to ice road truckers… we strive to develop the footwear that they ask for.

Built with the toughest full grain leather, an armor of an abrasion and chemical resistance to oil, gas and barnyard chemicals, the fortitude of an oil and slip resistant outsole and a fortress of Dry-Core™ waterproof protection, the Extreme Tough boot isn’t just tough, it’s Extreme.

I wear these for work and in the shop over weekends. They are built tough and have held up surprisingly well for almost a year...but, I live in rainy Oregon and I take the term "waterproof" seriously. These soaked my toes the first time I wore them in wet grass, it wasn't even raining, it was just the morning dew. I was dissapointed, but kept wearing them into spring and summer and they really grew on me. Although maybe the waterproofing was sewn inside out ;) because every couple of days I sit these on the boot dryer to dry out the sweat build up. They can be a hot boot. They feel more stable and don't have the overly thick soles like Georgia Romeos, I don't like that high heel or stilt feeling. The rubber soles keep grip and last WAAAY longer than the blown rubber soles of some "other" romeos. They're a little wider than standard sized boots and that's ok. The only thing that is falling apart at 1 year of continual use is the vinyl stitch track that attaches the leather to the rubber and it's dying slow so I should be wearing these into Summer.

      only romeo that fits

      By hard on boots

I used these almost every day and man was I hard on them. They took everything I could throw at them from scouting, camping, work, and just daily use, but I finally wore them out and need a new pair. I will be getting another pair no doubt about it, cause Ive tried other brands and none have fit my wide foot and the others wherent comfortable from the start.

The best romeo style boot ever

I've been looking for a product like this for some time. I am a footwear engineer by profession (I don't work for LaCrosse), and I can tell you they are on the right track here. I've tried similar styles from other companies, but they either wore out too quickly, or fit horribly or were engineered in such a way that made walking uncomfortable. These, however, are perfect. They were a little tight around the collar, but that was good because when they broke in, they were incredibly comfortable, something you might not expect in a boot made to be so durable. I especially like how on the inside heel area, the seam is partially covered. This is where most of my boots have failed, and instead of fabric, it's proper leather. I was a little wary of the outsole material, since it's not vibram rubber, but it seems to hold up well and provides good traction. Note that the boot is not waterproof where the stretchy fabric is, so don't step in any deep puddles. Also, they are ridiculously affordable. I bought two pairs just in case LaCrosse was unwise enough to stop making these.

I bought these boots of desperation, [...]. I have never worn Lacrosse before I bought these boots, but I decided to give them a shot and plus I had no choice. To my surprise these are some of the best slip on boots I have ever owned. I am very impressed with them, both with the quality and the fit. I work on ships for living, so standing on a metal deck all day can really put your feet and shoes through a grinder. These boots stick to the non-skid decks like glue and the sole gives with each step. I have had these boots for about a month now, they holding up really well and remaining water proof. I will buy again for sure!

I wear the boots on dairy farms. They are good at not letting water in and wash off nice. They make my feet sweat so abd that my socks are soakign wet. I have never had a pair of boots do this to me. The abrasion material has worn off extremely fast.
