Details

In 1897 LaCrosse opened its doors manufacturing rubber horseshoes, quickly transitioning into overshoes, rubber boots. Next came jungle boots, pac boots, tennis shoes, boating shoes, moonboots, hip boots, waders, leather boots, mining boots and many more… And through it all we’ve learned many lessons that have contributed to a century of experience in crafting high quality footwear.
It’s a pretty simple value… if you don’t know what someone needs, just ask. That is how we approach each design, working directly with the men and women of their trade; from miners and railroaders to ice road truckers… we strive to develop the footwear that they ask for.

Built with the toughest full grain leather, an armor of an abrasion and chemical resistance to oil, gas and barnyard chemicals, the fortitude of an oil and slip resistant outsole and a fortress of Dry-Core™ waterproof protection, the Extreme Tough boot isn’t just tough, it’s Extreme.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Good Cushioning
  • Water proof

Cons

  • Not slip-resistant

Best Uses

  • Casual Wear
  • Work

I was so looking forward to try these and first off, they are way less slip resistant than QuadComfort's chevron shaped soles. Huge disappointment. The very first Quad I found had different sole and they were THE best among what I have tried with all LaCrosse attributes in a given boots. I had now-discontinued Bighorn whose sole was the second best. For its intended use which is mostly outdoors, they should be okay. I wear them in restaurant work. Floor material plays a huge roll. I'm keeping them for build quality and comfort for daily use. Hope LaCrosse will develop better sole. I haven't tried other available soles, though. Almost forgot;even though I wear wide, steel toe, they are roomy.
