In 1897 LaCrosse opened its doors manufacturing rubber horseshoes, quickly transitioning into overshoes, rubber boots. Next came jungle boots, pac boots, tennis shoes, boating shoes, moonboots, hip boots, waders, leather boots, mining boots and many more… And through it all we’ve learned many lessons that have contributed to a century of experience in crafting high quality footwear.
Rubber, in its natural uncured form, is a sticky substance extracted from trees and then turned into a durable and elastic material through the process of vulcanization. This process is unique to each manufacturer and for over 115 years, we have been experimenting, testing, and tweaking our process, ensuring that our rubber goods are of the highest quality.

Our waterproof, breathable chukka is inspired by our rich tradition of hand-crafted natural rubber but takes it a step further with an incredibly versatile outdoor shoe. The Trempealeau leans on our Alpha technology but instead of rubber over neoprene throughout the shoe, the upper is canvas over neoprene, which offers the comfort of neoprene with the more casual look of canvas. Perfect for days spent out by the lake.
