- Going Out
I like them beacause they are comfortable and very safety in the stability when walkig! Thanks for making so good rubber boots!
- Ice fishing
I bought my first pair of LaCrosse Trap hip boots about 1993-94. I trapped in them for seven seasons, used them for hunting for many more. After 15 years of unforgiving service, they finally got a hole. I used them two more years. I do not ever remember my feet getting cold in these boots even in -15f. These boots are great for ice fishing, no wet knees while tending tip-ups. I just bought as new pair in 2010. I cut the tops off old pair and made a pair of mud boots out of them. These boots are well worth the money.
I use this hip boot hard for trapping and hunting. I presently own three pair and one pair I have used for more then ten years. I rotate these boots day to day as the end of a typical day is late and the boots are damp from perspiration. I take good care of these boots by cleaning them at the end of the season, treating them with a rubber protectant and hanging them out of the sun in the off season. If there is one thing that I could say bad about these boots is that the tread has started to wear off the bottoms of my oldest pair even though they are still in good condition otherwise.
- Seems like heavy material
- Difficult to get onoff
- Difficult to kneel in
- Not enough knee space
- Rubber handles inside
- Very unfomfortable
I tried to use these for trapping. I was exhausted in an hour. You can not bend your knees naturally as you walk because there is not enough space in the knee area of the boot to allow you to walk. There are also rubber handles down around the calf for carrying the boots once they are off. They were snug against the calf and even made my leg sore. I strongly do not reccommend these boots for any type of work. I have always used the big chief type boot and that is what I will stick with. Those are much more comfortable.
