It wasn’t rocket science, but after watching rubber boots get stuck in deep trenches of muck and mud, we invented Ankle-Fit, a development that revolutionized the way a rubber boot is constructed ensuring a secure fit around the ankle.
Rubber, in its natural uncured form, is a sticky substance extracted from trees and then turned into a durable and elastic material through the process of vulcanization. This process is unique to each manufacturer and for over 115 years, we have been experimenting, testing, and tweaking our process, ensuring that our rubber goods are of the highest quality.
100% waterproof and designed to handle the toughest conditions in the mine, the Meta-Pac work boots provide the protection and features needed to get you through your day. A Vibram® outsole is extremely durable and offers superior traction. Steel toe, Steel midsole and floating metatarsal guard meet or exceed ASTM standard certification.

Features
  • ZXT™ premium ozone-resistant, abrasion-resistant rubber offers 100% waterproof protection
  • Double layer toe guard provides extra-long wear in conditions where crawling is required
  • Developed in 1963, LaCrosse® Ankle-Fit™design features a narrowed ankle pocket that grips the top of the foot better and locks the heel in place preventing excess rubbing and chafing
  • Removable insole for cushioning comfort
  • Extended sizes available for women or those with smaller feet
  • Long-wearing Vibram® 132 Montagna outsole for heavy-duty traction in outdoor conditions

Pros

  • Saftey toe
  • very warm

Cons

  • Expensive

Best Uses

Kinda expensive, but they are awesome. Im a mechanic for a blasting company in the strip mines of western KY. Ive never had a pair of insulated safety toe boots and last winter is going to be my last without them. It got so bad at nights i had to sneek my non steel toe hunting boots on that had a hole in them. They wouldnt cut it laying under a truck in a slushy mix of anfo, snow, oil an diesel fuel when the wind is blowing hard an the chill is around 15 degrees trying to put a pto back on. My feet were just numb, im not going to let that happen again. These boots are awesome, they are comfortable to wear all day in the rain and cold, even when its pretty warm like today, they really didnt get that hot. Since it has the saftey toe i dont have to worry about harming my feet or worse, getting in trouble with MSHA. Its the complete package, everything you want in a single boot.

I work in a limestone mine and walk about 5 miles a day, the average boot life (Before these Meta-Pac boots) was 3 months. Wowch 4 pair of of expensive boots per year UNEXCEPTABLE! Then I tried these Meta-Pac boots and WOW AWESOME! These boots last and last I get 7 to 8 months out of one pair of boots. The Vibram sole is incredible super tough and awesome traction. I have never had one pair leak on me the sole can be slick as Kojack's head and still no leaks (Who loves ya baby?). They aren't insulated and are cold in the winter so I bought a pair of Alpha Aggressive 16" Black 800G NMT and they are Awesome also. So if you depend on your boots for a living forget ALL other boot companies and buy LaCrosse they are worth every penny! I WILL NEVER WEAR ANY OTHER BOOTS!!!
